I have been seeing so many adorable fox things lately – fox fabric prints, fox toys, fox everything! I love all those cute little foxes and had to join in the fun! My daughter loves finger puppets, so I made this little bear and fox finger puppets (the fox had to have a little brown bear for its friend! I wouldn’t want the fox to be lonely…).
These DIY finger puppets are pretty quick to make and I have the free pattern for you, too. I’ll show you exactly how I made these little cuties so you can make your own bear and fox finger puppets!
DIY Bear and Fox Finger Puppets
- a small amount of felt in orange, white, dark brown, light brown, and black
- free printable pattern (included in this post)
- thread in brown, orange, and black
- sewing needle
- 4 small buttons
- lo-temp glue gun & glue sticks
Brown Bear Finger Puppet
To make the little brown bear finger puppet, I first cut out the felt pieces I needed. I cut out two dark brown body pieces, one tan belly, one tan nose/snout, and two tan ears. I also cut out a small black nose, which is the only piece I didn’t include in the pattern (it’s just a small black triangle, but you could also use an extra small black button instead.)
I heated up my glue gun and used a small drop of glue to attach the small black nose to the top of the circular tan snout piece. Then I used some doubled black thread to stitch on a mouth shape.
Next, I glued the snout/nose piece onto the brown body piece. I also glued on the two button eyes, the tan belly piece, and the tan ears.
Then I threaded some brown thread, doubling it up and tying a knot in the end. I used the blanket stitch to sew up the side, across the top, and down the other side. I left the bottom side open. The bear finger puppet looked adorable!
Fox Finger Puppet
For the fox finger puppet, I cut out two orange body pieces, one white belly piece, one white whiskers piece, and two white tail pieces. I also cut out a small round black felt nose, but you could also use a small black button for a nose if you’d prefer.
First I added a tiny drop of glue to the top center of the whiskers to glue on the nose piece. Then I used some black thread (I doubled the black thread to make it more visible), and stitched on a mouth shape.
Next I glued the whiskers, the belly piece, and the two black button eyes onto one of the orange body pieces. I did not glue on the white tail pieces – wait for those until later.
Then I used orange thread to blanket stitch up one side, across the top, and down the other side. I left the bottom side open.
The last step was to glue on the white tail pieces. I glued one onto the tip of the tail on the front and another on the back (so the tail looks cute from the back of the puppet, too). The finished fox finger puppet is below – so fun!

These bear and fox finger puppets are too cute – I love these little woodland creatures! All I had to do was cut out the felt pieces, then glue and sew them together. I showed them to my daughter as soon as I was done and we had our own little puppet show, which is always adorable and fun. She loves animals!
Which is your favorite between the bear and fox finger puppets?
